First Baselinebums season alligns perfectly with the first SPAM season in almost a decade. :st-spam:

#2 seed locked
Next steps:
- 60 win season
- maybe snatch the #1 seed
- hopefully collect some individual awards for Vic/KJ/Mitch

Apologies if I'm too enthusiastic, I spend the day daydrinking here in germany and I couldn't resist making this thread. Actually, no apologies. Check in if you believe in the SPAM.

Yes, SPAM is finally back.

My only concern is that the #2 might be the sweet spot -- if so, you probably play Phoenix in the 1st Round rather than, say, the Clippers -- I'd take that trade.

Then in the 2d Round you stay away from Denver, Minny, and possibly the Rockets -- you play the Lakers instead. Again, I'd take that trade.

The only seeming disadvantage is no HCA against OKC if both teams get that far. But by then, I think the Spurs would be rolling.

I like the #2 seed -- and you can still get those 60 wins anyway.

Problem is the Wolves could easily slide into the 6 seed with Ant still hurt and that's IMO the worst possible second round matchup. Also Clippers are probably beating Phoenix in the 7-8 play-in game to get the 7 seed so it could be Clippers -> Wolves -> Thunder to make the Finals as the 2 seed. Guess it depends how close you think Ant is to coming back. Wolves also have a game against the Rockets in Game 81 that would determine the tiebreaker and possibly give them a choice of which side of the bracket they wanna be on. My guess is they'd be very comfortable in the 6 seed with matchups against the Lakers and Spurs instead of Denver and OKC in the first two rounds. So I say go for the 1 seed if it's there for the taking. Get PHX instead of LAC in the first and have homecourt advantage against everyone.

Bum, at some point you gotta realize these teams are locked in here with us. We’re not locked in here with them.

Even though the Spurs have generally played better against the Nuggets than the Timberwolves, the former are a worse matchup on paper because they possess the same qualities needed to compromise the Spurs defense, which is a combination of plus shooting and front court bulk. The difference is, they have far superior play making and a genuine MVP caliber player.

But yeah, at this point the Spurs should be considered the monster, along with the Thunder of course.

Either way, it's not like the old days where the only real worry in the West was the Lakers or later on the Mavs. OKC, Minnesota, Denver, even LA could win a title this year and will all be really tough outs.

I don't think the Timberwolves or Lakers can win the title this year, but yeah of course it won't be easy.

At this point, losing to anyone but the Thunder or Nuggets (if Jokic can regain peak form and Gordon and Watson can somewhat stabilize their defense) would qualify as a disappointment though.
 
I mean the goal of all nba teams should be get better so likely a moniker all teams would adhere to
