Kidd wanted out last summer, but they wouldn’t release him from his contract. I think AD is 100% on the market now. I think Irving could be if he shows good recovery. What a mess. Have they named a replacement? Do Kidd, Irving and AD stay long-term. Do they waive Klay? Can they build around Flagg?
Mostly, I’m just glad we don’t have to worry about them too much as we ascend in the West.
Too bad they already pissed away Grimes. I like Max Christie but not gonna be a lot of minutes for him here once Harper is healthy, so guess PJ Washington is the only player worth swiping. You usually want to fire your shitty management before they completely fuck over your organization, but I guess now is better than never
Bubye Nico. When does the fire sale start?
Not sure why Chicago trades Vecevic White and a Top-10 pick. I understand salary is an issue with Davis as he’s a $55m dude, but that’s an awful lot for a player who won’t play in half the games your paying, is post-prime, and isn’t an alpha.AD is from Chicago and has said he wants to finish his career there.
AD for Vucevic/Collins/Coby White and a top10 protected Bulls pick would be reasonable.
White would be the ballhandler/score Mavs need and they'd get rid of long term salaries.
Now which organization is desperate enough to trade for AD? The warriors? Clippers?
That's hilarious. My first roommate in college was a Nigerian Christian guy named Chris who held fellowship meetings in his room, and was well known in the dorms as a christian guy. He was actually a good dude, though we had little in common. He was the absolute worst driver on the planet, which was kind of comical, and I joked with my other new friends that his driving was a sign that he was genuinely dying to meet his maker. Anyway, a few days into this new life, there was a knock at our door, and when I answered, a very tidy and carefully put together black guy said to me cheerfully, "Hello, friend! Have you heard the good news?!" I thought maybe there was a party I didn't know about, but then I asked, "no, what news?" and he said "the news about Jesus Christ our savior returning!" That guy kinda looked like Nico, and now I always think of him when I hear Nico stories. "Have you heard the good news?! We've acquired Anthony Davis!"
Another funny thing that happened that week was a new student fresh from Nigeria came to visit Chris. I was boiling some hot dogs, and when they emerged out of Chris's room after a few minutes, I asked them both if they'd like a hot dog, and the new guy looked at me, completely horrified, and asked, "You are eating dog??" His was the same look that Dallas fans had when they heard Luka had been traded.
This is similar to the Bill Simmons proposal of Ja to Toronto, Trae Young to Memphis, and Quickley, Murray-Boyles, and a FRP to Atlanta. If I'm Memphis or Dallas in these scenarios, I take Quickley plus assets over Trae... To me, Trae is undersized, overpriced, and just not worth it. Quickley's happier to be a role player and let Flagg be the star, Boyles-Murray might be a very useful player in the future, and there's financial space left to add another impactful player. How about:
Mix in Toronto:
- AD for Trae
And then Dallas should also try to move on from Kyrie. Not sure what Kyrie's value is for trade deadline deals, and it might be best to hold on for better opportunities.
- AD to Toronto
- Trae to Dallas
- Quickly to Atlanta
Suggestions are approximate and don't bother to match salaries or additional compensation to balance out, but they are in the ballpark.
Quickley is a straight up negative contract, Atlata would be better off letting Trae expire rather than doing that. How about:

Could see it. Mavs fans are truly dumb enough to protest the team by continuing to attend gamesWonder if SELL THE TEAM becomes the new chant at AAC
