Analysis 2025-26 Lineup Combinations (Updated Every 10 Games)

Was listening to Silver & Black Coffee Hour this morning and the topic of "5 man lineups you'd like to see more of" came up, and there was a brief mention of the Spurs 5-out. They specifically mentioned the lineup of Fox/Vassell/Champ/Barnes/Wemby but I think you could also run with Keldon in place of any of the wings and that would still effectively be the Spurs 5-out.

So what do these lineups look like so far this year? Well... frankly not a whole lot of minutes thus far but some promising offensive numbers in the limited time they have played, but not surprisingly some defensive drop off. Still too early to say much about these lineups... but I'm curious...

I was looking at our stars (Wemby/Fox/Castle/Harper) best three man lineups this morning and Champ is all over the place. More than any other role player. He's really made a jump this season. +10 on/off number this season.

Interesting, thanks for putting those together. One thing that seems to stand out, even when looking at other 5 man combos where you sub out the above for Castle and/or Harper, is the fact that without Wemby, or Kornet as his backup, our lineup is pretty small. Maybe the Pacers could do us an old school ABA solid and send us Pascal for some scraps.

that the Fox, Champ, Vassell, Keldon, Wemby lineup is yet to play a minute, is quite the travesty, since it is the easiest lineup to play.

The "Spurs 5 Out" lineup of Vic/Fox/Champ/Barnes/Devin logged an extra 11 minutes since I posted this (and they started together against ORL), and it has looked pretty good

Wasn't sure where else to put this... but FYI for everyone, databallr updated to v3 and it's full of all kinds of new features that I'm excited to play around with:

There is a new scatter plot tool (this are two quick basic ones I ran to play with it - unfortunately it looks like you can't invert axes right now)

A cool new wingspan dashboard full of data and a scatterplot tool. Here is Height v Wingspan, which is expectedly correlated... but also you can now see visually how D-DPM and Wingspan correlate

And a really cool contracts dashboard! https://databallr.com/contracts/SAS

Hope you all enjoy playing with this as much as I will!
