I think the lingering of Devin hatred is just herd mentality. His career trajectory did take a dip in his post-rookie seasons and he was hurt as well, leading to a dip in efficiency and some defensive frailties. But he never wavered from delivering in big moments and his numbers never fell below...
What an amazing game. OKC showed why they are the best team in the NBA by making the Spurs work on every possession while the Spurs showed why they are upto being the OKC kryptonite for the short, medium and long term.
I knew Wemby coming back will be a great impact but no one could have...
Good discussion on defensive pressure and the pressure it puts on referees to swallow the whistle. I guess it used to be like that in the early 2000s. I am reminded of th Spurs-Pistons championship slugfest in 2005. I still go back and watch games from that series. Very static basketball. Lots...
Sochan showed some promise on the shooting front, that we thought will work, because he took Pop's advice and shot free throws one handed. The idea was to angle and make his shooting hand provide the right spins towards the basket while practising the other hand to pivot properly outside of game...
A bit of a or probably a big difference from 10 years ago - the Warriors were obsessed with the record and ran into fumes by the time they reached the business end of the NBA finals.
The OKCT are playing upto deep bench and are barely breaking a sweat and yet going 24-1. This one seems like a...
I will look at this like this instead of talking of a window. Do the Spurs have a championship core? By that core, I mean players who are ready with the IQ and talent that it takes to thrive in the playoffs where talent levels are more or less the same but what differentiates winners and losers...
Lowe didn't say much about the Spurs matching up except that we have three speedy guards but the Thunder is loaded with defensive wings who are stopping everything. And then he said that among the field outside of Thunder only Denver posed a true threat.
His view apart, I feel that when Wemby...
There is a chance if Wemby plays. If he goes supernova on defence by eliminating the paint ..the Thunder will be forced to shoot from the perimeter and that's not their strength..I expect the guards and Devin to be at their best in this game for the Spurs to have a chance. Barnes and Champs...
The numbers shouldn't be read as they are. This is because Fox / Castle / Harper have largely played in different lineups. Fox has played in fewer lineups with Wemby and Castle in and so his defense on/off numbers are skewed by that factor. Similarly Castle has largely played with Wemby and the...
I expect a close game. The Lakers' defense is weak (as is ours). While the Spurs offense without Wemby has been really good. If all things click ..this could be like the Denver game. A major scoring game. If our shooters miss. It will be a different story. I am optimistic. Based on what has been...
Yeah. Fox has only struggled in a couple of games .. the NOP one featured some really good perimeter defense by Herb Jones who finally seems to have overcome his injury woes. Otherwise Fox's ballhandling has been pristine all season.
Defeating the Lakers and losing to the OKC will give the Spurs a 1-1 record. Losing to the Lakers and winning an easier regular season game consequently will give the Spurs a 1-1 record. Except it will dent the Lakers' record by a game. So I will root for the former. Besides Luck the Fakers.
He could be a good fit for the Spurs. But I doubt if Dumars and his sidekick Troy Weaver will trade him. Apparently Weaver has been recruiting Bey wherever he went (Detroit, Washington and now Pels).
