Draft Atlanta Hawks Pick-Swap Watch Thread

Not a hawks fan at all, but I do have to congratulate them on turning a mistake (Murray) into a positive. Most of us were thinking we could get a really good draft pick this year (maybe even a lottery pick) because they sucked at the time. But some smart guy in their organization saw the...

Draft Atlanta Hawks Pick-Swap Watch Thread

Lets not forget next years 1st round pick as well. In retrospect, trading DJ Murray was a pretty good trade even if we had to wait a few years to reap the benefits. Even the hawks benefitted from trading Murray away. Wonder if the Pelicans will trade Murray eventually.

Draft Atlanta Hawks Pick-Swap Watch Thread

I look at it this way, we have the 2nd or 3rd best record in the NBA right now, if we get to swap it for for the 14th or 15th pick its a win for the franchise. Sure a lottery pick would be nicer, but this draft is going to be a good one even in the middle of the draft. Don't forget the 3...

Draft Atlanta Hawks Pick-Swap Watch Thread

Yeah. they're going to have to decide do we pay our cheap draft picks or do we trade one or more of our current players for picks in 2045. Tough choice.

Player The Uncertainty Realm of the Improved Jumpshot of Jeremy Sochan

Guys like Wesley and Barlow came out real young and needed more time to develop into serviceable players. You could see the talent if you squinted, but again they just need more time.

Player The Uncertainty Realm of the Improved Jumpshot of Jeremy Sochan

Does anyone find it unusual that after high school, after a season of division 1 college basketball and 3 and a half seasons of professional ball, that Sochan still needs help on his shooting and free throw shooting ?

Agree 100%. The writing was on the wall once they drafted Bryant. He should have focused more on basketball, but didn't for lack of trying or lack of skill. Either way the team is better off now than it was at this time last year. So Sochan go do your thing in NY and we'll do our thing here...

Player The Uncertainty Realm of the Improved Jumpshot of Jeremy Sochan

No real opportunity ? Dude, 4 years is plenty of opportunity. He just didn't take advantage - the rainbow hair didn't help either. He'd better play well in NY, the fans there are hard on their players.

Mason Plumlee ? Well at least its only for 10 days. Lets see if he can dish out a few hard fouls on some over confident players.

Player The Uncertainty Realm of the Improved Jumpshot of Jeremy Sochan

I kind of see it this way, Sochan was important when the team didn't have a whole lot of talent. He was a pick that filled a need. Slowly, through the draft and through trades the overall level of team talent improved. Bryant was drafted for a need as well, but took a lot less time to show...

Player The Uncertainty Realm of the Improved Jumpshot of Jeremy Sochan

Once Sochan started getting DNP-CD , I knew the focus was going to be on Bryant slowly getting more minutes. I know its just a few games so far, but it seems Bryant is showing the potential and production the spurs wanted from Sochan.

Boy, that 2022 draft really sucked for the spurs. Was it a bad for other teams or did the spurs front office have a brain fart on draft night?

    News Official 2025-2026 Buyout Thread

Boucher or Niang would be my choice for the open spot. Boucher would help if healthy, as would Niang but both were waived for some underlying reason - and it wasn't for their overall lack of talent. (like Branham - good luck in China). Maybe pick up someone on a 10 day contract before...

    Game Thread Spurs (34-16) @ Mavs (19-31) (Thu 2/05/26) [7:30 PM CST]

Don't want to jinx it, but with a win tonight against the mav's. we will have surpassed our 34 win total from last year - all before the all star game. Lets beat Flagg and the mav's . Go spurs go.

Trade Official 2025-2026 Trade Deadline Thread

Yawn - no trades for the spurs ... not surprising. Guess that breaks the 3 or 4 year streak of actually doing something at the deadline. I don't think standing pat actually counts. Small chance we get in on the buyout market ?
