    Game Thread Spurs (4-0) vs Heat(3-1)(Thu 10/30/25) [7:30PM CDT]

Biyombo is already scraping the bottom of the barrel. The difference is, they at least have true center size and in their athletic prime. Spurs need to come out of the '26 draft with a developmental big in the pipeline.

Options to replace Biyombo: Moses Brown, Wiseman, Bamba. Bassey just signed with the Grizzlies on a hardship exception and Achiuwa might have an agreement with the Heat to return once they can sign him without going into the tax or apron.

    Analysis GRADES: Oct 27, 2025 - Spurs 121 Raptors 103

Good point. Spurs went from 8th to 23rd currently in 3-point attempt rate and that's without Fox and Sochan and increased minutes for Vassell, Barnes and Champagnie. Obviously the good outweighs the bad, but it's the one downside of Wembanyama's new paint centric shot profile.

Pelton: Spurs have started 4-0 given their weak early schedule

Exactly. Point differential is another good indicator. Already seeing goal post moving from some of the national media, who seem to be now grading them on a a championship contender scale, when it was supposed to be a playoff one. Either its their ego because their "model" didn't like them...

    Trade Spurs Trade Ideas

If Patrick Williams maintains his strong start, maybe Sochan and Olynyk for him by the trade deadline? He's underwhelmed, been injury prone and traditionally hasn't shot the 3 with enough volume, but still only 24 and fits the 3 and D big wing or combo forward archetype. He's overpaid, but if...

Analysis Spurs rotations and depth chart

There has to be a fair bit of overlap to get both Fox and Harper the minutes they deserve and to keep them content. Easier to control it if Harper comes off the bench obviously, but either way it will happen.

Player The Lifelong Residency of the Ever-Important Heart and Soul of the Spurs, Keldon Johnson

He at least has years of experience doing it and an extra 10 pounds. They've never shown an inclination to have Champagnie do so.

Last season, when it was still more so about development, sure. This season, when it's all about winning, nah. I don't think Champagnie is stout enough to defend the four and that would leave the bench overloaded with players to defend the four and five anyhow.

Agreed. But who would start in Barnes' stead anyway? Johnson is more suited as an energizer off bench, where it's easier to control minutes and matchups. Slim pickings on trade front after Markkanen. Near as I can see, Toppin might be best bet.

Player The restricted-age video store section of Dylan Harper

If he keeps this up, he's going to force some uncomfortable decisions sooner than later. Not surprised he's already better than Castle offensively, but am I surprised that he might be as good or better defensively and might be starter caliber. This could be be Fox's first and only full season...

Game Thread Spurs (2-0) vs Nets (0-2) (Sun 10/26/25) [1:00 PM CDT]

I don't know man. It used to be, but the league is so talented now and there's so many players unavailable at all times, that if you're a non tanking team, those guys have to be able to give you serviceable minutes.

With Barnes looking to have lost another step, Sochan injured and an awkward fit, Olynyk injured and either Kornet or him alongside Wembanyama a spot minute look, I thought he'd be a sneakily important. That might have been an understatement. He might flat out be their best option at PF. Good...

Game Thread Spurs (2-0) vs Nets (0-2) (Sun 10/26/25) [1:00 PM CDT]

I get it, but whether then or 90 seconds later, he was still subbing out soon either way and they were still likely falling apart when he did. Maybe Bassey wouldn't accept a non or partial guarantee (if so, weird he'd prefer G-League with Hawks, but I digress), but it'd be nice to have him...

More like the front office, who obviously knew Olynyk wasn't going to be ready to start the season and should have had a deep bench center with at least a live body, as opposed to the corpse of Biyombo. Johnson did the right thing treating this game like a must win.

    Game Thread Spurs (0-0) @ Mavericks (0-0) (Wed 10/22/25) [8:30PM CDT]

Barnes on Lively would be lob city reincarnate and volleyball on the offensive glass. They might live with him on Davis and dare starters not named Thompson to beat them from 3 while Wembanyama lurks as a help defender. The rest seem straightforward: Castle on Flagg, Vassell on Thompson...
