Analysis The Race for Home-Court Advantage - 25/26 Playoffs Seed Tracker

Gilgeous-Alexander is the best all around guard since Jordan. All of the others had or have weaknesses. Bryant was selfish and inefficient. Wade was a poor 3-point shooter. Paul was small and not really a go-to scorer. Curry is small and a defensive liability. Harden is a defensive liability...

Game Thread Spurs (47-17) vs Celtics (43-21) (Tue 03/10/26) [7:00PM CDT]

Clear is strong. Slight is more like it. A more talented Celtics iteration was on the verge of being beaten relatively soundly by the Knicks last season before Tatum tore his Achilles. It's funny, they're the opposite build of that majority of the Tatum-Brown era: Deep on playable wings, but...

Agreed. I don't know whether Kornet is a Christian conservative/MAGA, but this reeks of behavior befitting of them.

I'll answer something you didn't ask just for clarity: Two years tops buys them time to take 2-3 runs at a championship with and do right by Fox, while Harper should be overcooked to start at that point (offensive compatibility with Castle notwithstanding) and extension eligible, so it'll...

As ideal as it'd be to get a four or big who can space, there's not an obvious candidate, so I think guard or wing shooters like Mullins and Carr could be in play more than most probably think or hope. It's two-fold: One, I think they'll address the immediate rotational PF need with someone...

I didn't say he was. Sochan is a non shooter, Haugh is a poor one. I also didn't suggest they should focus on a McDermott like specialist. That was before they had a championship contender. Now they do, so the focus should and probably will shift to filling specific needs.

Hopefully this 65 game minimum threshold to qualify for awards nonsense is abolished in short order and they address the lack of front court depth in the off season, so as to be able to give him the occasional game off next season and beyond. He's probably not ever going to be suited to playing...

NBA Kawitters Legacy taking another hit

I can't believe people are still scared of Curry and Leonard in a series in '26. There's only five players who should inspire that and the Spurs have one of them. A second Antetokounmpo, is in the East and on a team that won't so much as make the play-in. A third, Doncic, is on a middling...

You're reading too much into it. It's fact that Haugh, at 23, has less runway and is therefore less likely to become a spacer than if he were 19-21. After this season, this team will be in championship or bust mode. They have specific needs and should be looking to address them at this point.

He's still old, scrawny and not a good shooter, which is not a good fit for this team at PF. I'm not overly familiar with Florida's level of shooting/spacing from '25, but I do know the baseline of it is not the same as the NBA.

Exactly. If Haugh weren't white, he'd be thought of as the sub par shooter he's always been, which is even more damning considering he's already 23. He also lacks strength. It doesn't mean he can't become a rotation player in the league, but I don't see a fit here.

Still a relatively small sample size and I don't think it's a change so much as, against the better teams, they were probably always planning on more so playing nine. Barnes vs Bryant is becoming a conversation though. I still think Barnes will be given every opportunity to retain his spot, but...

Maybe not so much blocks themselves as the threat of them will always be important, because the rim, which is obviously where most occur, was, is and always will be the most valuable real estate in the sport. If you don't alter or block many or suppress attempts and you're not great defensive...

Ten makes for an awkward rotation and and a shooting/spacing starved team needs to prioritize Barnes over Bryant, even with the former struggling or declining rapidly.
