San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder - a team comparison

I agree that Jeremy has done a good job on SGA in the past. The problem with using Sochan as a defender is that he needs to be providing something meaningful on offense in order for his minutes to be a net positive. It remains to be seen if he can really do that but I am holding out hope for now.

San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder - a team comparison

Definitely true, there's a lot left to sort out once the rosters are at full strength. Fox and Jdub will both have a significant impact on their respective teams when they return. To me they are comparable talents, more or less, but they affect the game in different ways. I'd guess Fox should...

San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder - a team comparison

So further to this, advanced stats (outside of turnovers) really favor the Spurs. The basic stats above didn't take into account minutes played, but OKC's scoring average is inflated a bit because of this. Adjusted, the Spurs are scoring better. Adjusted defensive rating is actually identical...

Haha, fair point, I hadn't even bothered to get current on the state of the Pacers.

San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder - a team comparison

To be the best, you've got to beat the best... Given that the Spurs and the defending NBA champions are the only two undefeated teams remaining in the west, I thought it might be interesting to take a look at the stat sheet and see what it might reveal about how the two teams compare otherwise...

Game Thread Spurs (3-0) vs Raptors (1-2) (Mon 10/27/25) [7:00 PM CDT]

Fun game, I wasn't keeping up with the game thread at all so here are my thoughts... Really impressed by Collin Murray Boyles. He wanted all the Wemby smoke and while Victor was more than happy to deliver, CMB really held his own. The Raptors have a good young player there and I think he will...

Hope we get a lot of Harper at PG minutes in the 4th. Good things happen when he's involved.

Absolutely love Dylan Harper's game. So savvy at only 19 years old.

Oops, I guess I'm throwing with Mathurin, Miller and Buzelis all on my bench today for no reason whatsoever. I could have sworn I set my lineup for each day this week a few days ago... Oh well, I was getting stomped anyway.

    Game Thread Spurs (1-0) @ Pelicans (0-1) (Fri 10/24/25) [7:00 PM CDT]

The biggest needs for this squad are better three point shooting and better defense of three point shooters. My hunch is they can maybe get away with a deficiency in one of these areas, but both is a death sentence. Fortunately defending the three should be a relatively easy fix. If Barnes and...
