Game Thread Spurs (44-17) vs Pistons (45-15) (Thu 03/05/26) [7:00 PM CST]

Since you bring up Beef Stew ;), I want to bring up the physicality Victor has been facing. I'm all for tough play/physical play, but is Victor not being fouled quite a bit off the ball?

How come you can't be that physical with guards and it's a foul if you do, but with Victor, you can push him around, pull him, hit him and it not be a foul? The NBA was calling soft fouls for years and now they're just letting this kind of physical play go with hardly any fouls called. How are they able to pick and choose like that?

Because if they called bigs like they called guards/wings, games would be 4 hours long and Nosferatu can't have that tbh.

If teams couldn't be physical with him, Wemby would average 40 on lobs alone :st-lol:

The Wemby fouls are irksome. Is grabbing the jersey allowed? That seems like the main strategy to combat his verticality this season. He will check in with his jersey tucked in and within 30 seconds it's untucked from these filthy animals grabbing it and twisting it. Even more infuriating, players are doing this in full view of an official and I don't recall seeing it called once.

Wemby needs to elbow the fuck out of one of these clowns in the face for it to finally stop. Like when Jokic ended that Morris twins career, Wemby needs a defining moment of “nasty” so people quit trying him every second of every game

on paper is the toughest game left on our schedule, and detroit will be looking for blood.

i had still been wary of denver catching us since we have 3 games left against them, but with them in some kind of free-ball and now 8 games behind us, i'm no longer concerned about them in the standings. houston, however, is still kind of hanging around 5 games back, and we get them at home on Sunday with a chance to clinch the season series and tiebreak.

all that to say, our 2 most important games left on the schedule will be played over a 4 day stretch, with the clippers sandwiched in between

If we play well and win, great.
If we play well and lose, F it that is great too.

Good playoff tuneup.
My requests
1. Play well
2. No idiotic self induced errors. Example Wemby turnovers. FFS learn to read the floor and know when to give up the dribble.
3. No retardation from Mitch
4. If we get ref F'd that will be sad. But all appearances thus far is that Wemby is going to have to Duncan his way to Chips. That meaning no ref help and plenty of ref / NBA corruption politics to overcome.

Houston offense is terrible for long stretches and Denver defense awful. I don't see Gordon getting healthy enough to be an elite defender this year so not worried about either of these teams. Spurs could lose to both but I doubt either would be a 7 game series.

its also Peyton Watson and Spencer Jones that Denver is missing who could help them defensively, not just Aaron Gordon

Love how OP took off a few of our losses... I can think of at least 4 that shouldn't be losses, so it's fair :st-lol:
