We had a good amount of player movement so I thought we could use a thread to keep track of players from last year that are no longer with the team. Whether it's someone you thought was garbage, someone you loved, or someone you felt needed different situation to succeed, this is the place for you to scream "I told you so"!

And besides, what could infuse more of the SpursTalk ethos into this site than the ability to crap on our current and former players?

Per Basketball Reference, here are the current homes of several players.

Blake Wesley - Portland Trailblazers
Charles Bassey - Atlanta Hawks
Chris Paul - Los Angeles Clippers
David Duke Jr - Phoenix Suns
Malaki Branham - Washington Wizards
Sandro Mamukelashvili - Toronto Raptors
Sidy Cissoko - Portland Trailblazers
Tre Jones - Chicago Bulls
Zach Collins - Chicago Bulls

Who stays, who doesn't? Who does well and who is out of the league before the end of the year?

I'll still follow Wesley and Bassey for the most part, with an eye on Cissoko if he starts to flash at any point

Wish them all well, but don't really care that much. I guess I'll root for Blake, Tre and Mamu the most out of that group, and don't really care for Zach Collins. BTW, he's in Chicago, not Portland. You must be some kind of a sadist to want him back where they almost butchered his career :sneaky:

Wesley will be out of the league next summer if he doesn't develop his offensive game.
Branham is a lost cause.
Bassey is probably also a lost cause because of his knees.
CP3 is on a retirement tour.
Duke and Sidy probably also won't get another contract, Sidy will surely be on his way back to Europe.
Collins will get minimum deals for some more years and Mamu/Tre will be parennial locker room guys.

Thanks Ariel. Not sure why I listed Portland when I knew he was a Bull.

I'm interested in seeing if Wesley amounts to anything significant and I hope Mamu does well. Kinda sad that he packed up his Flavor Flav and moved to Canada but our big man rotation is much improved.

Love this thread!

I'll be watching closely as Bassey beats out Wemby for DPOY

Will still root for Blake as I like his approach to the game. Too bad he just can’t do much on offence. If he can have a semi reliable jump shot he can be a modern day Lindsey hunter.

Malaki I think is done. High scoring no defense prototype who can’t really score that much, like a broke mans temu Ben Gordon once every 25 games.

Sidy is gone. Special skills that is offset by his god awful scoring.

Zollins will be a backup somewhere if he can stay healthy.

Tre will be a solid backup somewhere.

Mamu will be a 10th 11th man somewhere. Go off on 37 points on 12 shots once every six years.

Paul don’t really care. Pretty much the nique before our Duncan.

Duke won’t be much I think. Likely hop around a few teams, g league and then Europe.

Sadly, Bassey will most likely be in the running for DNPoY instead. Too bad his knees hate him.

Not all from last year but media day photos from past Spurs this season.

I’m always surprised to see that Eubanks still has a place in the NBA.

Murray loooks really weird. His head looks way too small comared to the body.

In for the first facetiously irrational overreaction.

Dang it! What were we thinking? Did you SEE Zach Collins' first preseason game shooting line?? Do we have so many good shooters that we just give away a stone cold sniper like Zach?

I hope Wemby didn't see this stat line.

It's the shoulders! They probably had to do a bit of a "step back" for his photo to be full-body (like Wemby's but less extreme) and thus the weird propotion/perspective.

Mans always had tremendous delts, I seem to remember he was wide-shouldered even as a rookie? Genetic lottery winner, obviously...

Tre isn’t a solid backup imo. He’s stuck between backup and g league.

Hes a weird guy. Highly skilled but has no clue how to manage the floor. He does whatever scheme he locks into before he crosses mid court.

I think even a backup PG needs to be able and to move the ball effectively when they don’t offer shooting or defense.

Tre is just a quick dude who can dribble and do layups. Fine for Chicago. Not fine for a competitive team.

I think Tre is a good placeholder. Can hold the fort down and keep the ship steady with mistake free basketball but plays too conservative so he's not a needle mover.

Thanks for this image. I still wish we could’ve or would’ve kept dwhite but I’m happy for him. Great situation and he’s truly been great
