SPURS BEAT THE KINGS 123-110, IMPROVE TO 9-4
Scott's Notes:
Scott's Notes:
- Players of the Game: Fox, Korndog, Barnes, Sochan. Honorable mention to Lunch Lady, and solid performances from Champ and KJ.
- Not sure how much this needs to be said... but CB needs to be in Austin. He's nowhere near being an NBA player right now.
- Which is why I gave Mitch a 2. Everytime CB comes into the game, we lose leads. I'll give him maybe half a pass this game because we don't have much frontcourt depth. I don't see any reason for why Bismack should get any minutes or even be on this team. Micah Potter would be better. Charles Bassey would be better. Precious Achuiwa would be better. Literally anyone would be better.
- Loved what Kelly brought to this game. He's such a smart offensive player. He'll cost us on D, but I would like to see him get some minutes paired with Wemby in the future. 6 reb and 8 assists is sneaky good work.
- KJ just out there eating glass. Love this part of his game. No more contests 3s though please.
- It was a lot of work for me to be as negative as I was in the game thread for the reverse jinx. I hope I don't have to do that again.
- Going to keep it short and leave it at that. My goal is to be a little more concise in these grade threads going forward. Good win. GSG!
- @mazerrackham: Encouraging to see Sochan look confident in sinking those two threes. However, I actually thought his defense took a step back from his usual. Will the offensive comfort translate to the coaching staff being comfortable increasing his minutes? Time will tell. It will be interesting to see if he gets a longer leash if he keeps making some threes here and there.
- @Area 51.247: Credit the old pros on the roster: Fox, Barnes, Kornet, and especially coach's son and South Kamloops, BC point guard Olynyk for this win. They put in yeoman's work to pull the team's focus together with Victor and, after halftime, Steph Castle out. Not a lick of "Poor, poor, pitiful us...", just got it done.
- @CrustyCoastBendFan: Coach Mitch’s biggest play was basically saying, “Wemby, take a spa day.” That opened the stage for Fox, Kornet, and the Short Bus Kids to run around like it was recess. Honestly, it was less coaching, more babysitting. Still, a decent sparring session.
- @Davidicus: Mostly everyone got 3s or 4s because it’s the Kings. Fox played well which is encouraging, but again it’s the Kings. Only player to get a 5 was HB - Unc said that’s enough.
- @LeBowen: Fox brought us home, we'll need him to play on his level consistently.
