During your Prime playing days, hey maybe that's even now altho i think most posters are 30+.
Could you play in one quarter of an NBA game if the ref favoritism was given you the same as SGA gets?

You get to stiff arm at will. Fall down on virtually every missed shot and get rewarded with FTs.
That also enables you to get weaker coverage on plays where the opponent has to back off so as not to see you get another bogus FT line prance.

I'm just going to say, I don't get it. He seems to blatantly be able to do things and get free throws out of it. I just don't get why him and/or why someone from OKC. I wouldn't think the NBA gives a F about him or OKC, so why does he get that kind of treatment? That's the part that throws me off completely. For example, I can understand someone like Luka being in a big market like LA, but why Shai? He's in OKC and I don't think he's that popular outside of OKC, is he?

What I don’t get is everyone knows the calls he gets are BS at this point yet the refs keep giving him the same inexplicable whistle.

It’s got to the point now where the refs are a regular part of the discourse whenever OKC is brought up. You’d think the refs would be made more aware but they seem to be doubling down on the suspect whistle he gets.

Brunson is the same way for the Knicks. He and SGA are gifted so much by the refs.

Again, Brunson is also a guy I can understand as he's on a big market team and the NBA and networks such as ESPN love to push those teams.
I just don't get why SGA gets that whistle and treatment. Yes, the guy is a great player, but why is he getting that kind of whistle. Does the NBA or the average fan care about OKC at all?

i'd be ok with his calls, if he was consistently being called for his pushoffs and lean-ins with his legs

I think he just flails around making unnatural movements more often than the average superstar does so he gets more calls. It also helps that he is still a really good player even if he wasn't foul baiting so he gets "respect " Kinda sucks but that's his style and its been successful for him.
