Draft March Madness Draft Watch: Spurs Prospect Tracker

My initial thought was Day’ron Sharpe tbh but we’ll have to see if he can dominate against more talented front courts moving forward

Holy fuck Tarris Reed with a damn near 30/30 last night

Draft 2026 NBA Draft Prospects Thread

It's probably something in between. Spurs want to keep their reputation of being "player friendly" if at all possible, they have historically catered to players and agents' whims more than most other franchises. They're willing to take the hit in rep if it means getting an elite talent in the...

Draft Atlanta Hawks Pick-Swap Watch Thread

I kind of like their third string center Karlo Matkovic - he's on a minimum right now and has a team option for next year, but he seems like he could be a decent cheap option for 3rd string center next year. Only 24, 6'11, nice shot blocker and rim protection, legitimate stretch center potential...

Carr-pool and Swain Train have such nice rings to them - these two should be ranked highly just purely for this reason

News Expansion Draft Protection discussion - Adam Silver says NBA will make decision on expansion in 2026, cites Seattle and Las Vegas as possibilities

One move we might be looking at is trading picks or moving down in exchange for additional picks in 2028 or 2029 to try and replace whoever gets poached in the expansion draft

Misc Tony Parker: Gregg Popovich's coaching bordered on abuse: "I sometimes had tears in my eyes in the shower after practice"

Yes, this exactly. Spurs like to stress-test a bunch of their new prospects and put them in situations they're not used to to try and develop skills they don't have Wemby - came in bigger than everyone else, maybe could have put him in the post, but instead made him chuck a bunch of 3s in year...

Player The restricted-age video store section of Dylan Harper

^To sum up, at age 20/21/22 respectively, the Harper-Castle-Wemby combo when playing together in 150 minutes has an offensive rating of 126 and defensive rating of 90. This is the worst that combo will be for the next 10 years.

I think it depends on what you mean by "closest comp" If you mean stylistically, then you are looking for a bigger pure off-ball wing who can guard up and plays with high energy with some semblance of a shot and minimal to no on ball creation. Of this year's crop, that's easily Haugh. If you...

I agree with this, was looking at Harris a couple weeks ago and he looked interesting. Not sure if it's just because he's skinny or what, but he looks like his arms are very long and he rebounds extremely well for a guard. I think these high-volume medium efficiency guys are a tricky eval, but...

Draft 2026 NBA Draft Prospects Thread

I assume that top 9 of DP/Boozer/AJ/Wilson and then Mikel/Kingston/Acuff/Wagler/Ament are basically locked in at this point Of the remaining: 1. Swain - ideal wing size (6'8", 215, probably 7 foot wingspan; legit NBA athleticism); massive improvements year over year and still sophomore aged...

Game Thread Spurs (47-17) vs Celtics (43-21) (Tue 03/10/26) [7:00PM CDT]

Celtics with healthy Tatum scare me more than any other team including OKC. They've got a stable of defensive wings to throw at our guards, they have a multi-prong attack so you can't cut off a single head of the snake, their entire roster is stacked with 2 way players, they're collectively an...

The big takeaway that I get from your post is that you think Fox needs to be traded within the next two years. I don't agree or disagree with this, but let's assume that this is true. In this world then, do you think it makes sense to steer away from convention and draft another guard this year...

What do you view as the current biggest needs for the team that can be addressed via draft and who do you like within the spurs range (or can be reasonably obtained with draft capital) to address those needs?

Draft 2026 NBA Draft Prospects Thread

Spurs have had some issues with teams spreading them out and going 5 out. He's actually a very good antidote against this approach. OKC puts Chet or Jaylin Williams as the lone big and Steinbach at the 5 is basically cleaning up on the offensive glass while being able to run with with them.
