Harper was still the better pick long term for the spurs. Harper is going to be the future pg and has the higher upside than Kon. I have confidence in Harper improving his perimeter shooting than Kon breaking past his defenders and finishing at the rim.

The Spurs would not have taken Sheppard over Castle. They baited Houston into taking Sheppard by feigning interest. Castle was their target all along even had a scout assigned to scout Castle while at UCONN .

Any team would be foolish to trade any player of value for Sochan. Teams should have enough common sense to know if Sochan was any good the Spurs would be playing him as the Spurs need a starting quality PF.
