His clutchness in close games this year really reminds me of MJ. It's gotten to a point where I would double team him in the clutch and force someone else to take the shot. He has become that good in the clutch.
This is why I don't mind the Spurs being locked in the second seed. I don't see the Warriors ending up in 7th. I think by looking at the way they are currently positioned their ceiling in the standings is 8th place even with factoring in the play in.
I'm 42 years old so I would be classified as an elder Millennial. The Millennial generation that was born during the 80's grew up watching MJ and the 90's bulls. All those people are in their late 30's to early 40's. They will be around for at least another 30-40 years. Millennials are also...
I actually believe Duncan did care about winning accolades such as MVP earlier in his career. I do remember him being frustrated in '99 when Malone got the MVP over him due to the media feeling he was too young at the time. It did also bother him when he couldn't ever win DPOY.
Spurs are...
I didn't watch the game but I don't think this loss really will affect things in the standings especially with OKC defeating Boston. I think the Spurs are stuck in second and will finish the season in second place since OKC is on a mission to win out all of their remaining games.
This was a great win for the Spurs. I think psychologically the Spurs needed to know they can survive an onslaught from Kawhi and weather the storm in which they did. They were able to get crucial stops against Kawhi when they needed to get them.
Ernie just mentioned Brook has only 1 20 point game this season. Sucks he’s having a fluke game in which he’s playing like prime Nowitzki. In a 7 game series I don’t think he can play like this consistently.
I accepted a long time ago that he doesn't have the strength to back down guys in the post like Duncan was able to do so. At best we can just hope for is his offensive game to be a combination of Robinson and Garnett.
It's very close and even if it's a lottery pick the Spurs probably end up with the 13th or 14th pick since the Hawks would have one of the best records of the teams that are in the lottery.
I was watching an interview with Dylan Harper with his dad and brother being interviewed by Tmac and Vince. They asked Dylan which teammates he had the best chemistry with and without hesitation he said Fox and Castle.
He mentions this at the 45:44 mark in this interview.
Duncan actually did pretty well at these all-star games during the first half of the '00s. He won an all-star MVP with Shaq in '00 which I felt should have just gone to him. In '01 he dominated the first half of the all-star game and looked like he was going to get the MVP again until Kobe...
Another thing that stands out is how the West had 8 bigmen and only 4 guards. It goes to show you how the rules didn't favor perimeter players back then.
